PHILADELPHIA, PA — On Saturday, October 13th, the FlexPro team and family members attended a fall service day at the SHARE Food Philly program in Philadelphia, PA. More than 20 volunteers filled the warehouse set up to provide relief to entire families and organizations in need around the Northeast, working with other groups joining in a day of service.
The day began with a discussion about the SHARE Food Philly, a staple of the philanthropic community based in North Philadelphia. The group was then divided into teams that were tasked with both sorting and packing a variety of fruit, vegetables, and other food items. From there, the shipments were loaded and distributed to local outlets that reach the community, ranging from schools to shelters. At the conclusion of the event, FlexPro presented Share with a check representing a donation to their mission and efforts to support the community.
The SHARE Food program first opened in 1986, part of a national network of Shares dedicated to expanding community access to wholesome, affordable food. Since that time, Share has evolved into a vibrant, high-impact organization, recognized for our strong leadership role in reducing regional hunger and expanding access to nutritious, affordable food.
